ATLAS | MITRE

I interned at MITRE the summer before graduate school and was put on the ATLAS software development team. ATLAS, which stands for Adversarial Threat Landscape for Artificial-Intelligence Systems, is a knowledge base comprised of adversary tactics, techniques, and case studies for real world occurrences of machine learning attacks. The purpose of ATLAS is to raise awareness of this problem and to help others in strengthening their algorithms to avoid attacks.

I spent the summer creating a case study builder for the website so that groups have encountered adversarial ML could more easily contribute their experiences to the knowledge base. Overall, the goal was to make ATLAS more interactive, intuitive, and user-friendly.

The website was written with Vue.js and used the Vuetify library so I familiarized myself with the syntax of each and began creating the page. The case study builder lays out for the user what information is required for submission and allows them the flexibility of editing previous submissions.

Another feature I worked on was allowing the user to download a powerpoint of their submitted case study so that they could more easily share their findings with their own team members. For this feature, I used the powerpoint+js library PptxGenJS.
